Improving the the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients through a socio-psycho-spiritual approach: A case report
Abstract
This research discusses improving the quality of life of diabetes mellitus patients through a socio-psycho-spiritual approach. Diabetes mellitus is a chronic disease that requires holistic management, and this approach integrates social, psychological and spiritual aspects to improve patient well-being. Based on an analysis of health literature, this study investigates how social, psychological, and spiritual factors can contribute to improving the quality of life in diabetes patients. The integration of spiritual aspects in diabetes management also makes a significant contribution. Spiritual practices, such as meditation, prayer, or the search for meaning in life, can have a positive impact on emotional well-being and increase patient motivation. Spiritual values also create a framework for dealing with meaning and purpose in life, providing a deep sense of purpose in diabetes management. This research underscores the importance of treating patients holistically, not only as individuals with medical conditions, but also as individuals with social, psychological, and spiritual needs. A socio-psycho-spiritual approach can be the basis for more comprehensive care, capable of producing better outcomes in diabetes management and improved patient quality of life.
