Diabetes sufferers are still very dominant in the Bengkulu province, especially in the PKM Perumnas area of Rejang Lebong Regency. A series of self-care routines that will last a lifetime is a big challenge in compliance with DM sufferers. With treatment in the form of education, assistance, observation, counseling and reminding families about diabetes care, it is hoped that it will be able to increase diabetes patient compliance. The aim of this research is to analyze the effect of health promotion using booklet media and family assistance on increasing the family's role in self-care behavior in type 2 DM patients in the PKM Perumnas area of Rejang Lebong district in 2023. This research method uses an experimental design, with a one group design. pre test – post test design with control. Data analysis used the paired t-test statistical test, data normality test used the Kolmogorov Smirnov test. Research ethics were obtained from the Bengkulu Ministry of Health Polytechnic research ethics commission. Results There is a difference in the average value of the family's role in DM care at home before and after being given the booklet media, namely -1.32000 and the value is P= 0.000, so it can be concluded that there is an influence of the booklet media on the family's role in daily DM care in the PKM Perumnas Regency area. Rejang Lebong. Conclusion There is an influence of booklet media and family assistance on the family's role in daily DM care at home. Families are expected to be able to apply the family empowerment model in an effort to increase the family's role in daily self-care behavior for DM patients at home.
